If you look closely at the bottom-left corner of the Do It For Her board, you might spot a faint, handwritten signature that says “Phillip 2022”.
If you’re a hardcore Simpsons fan, you might be scratching your head. In the original 1995 episode “And Maggie Makes Three”, Homer’s workspace board didn’t have any signature.
So where did it come from?
The Origin of the Signature
The truth is, the high-resolution “Do It For Her” blank template that has been circulating the internet for the past few years isn’t a direct screenshot from the 90s television broadcast—it’s a fan-made HD recreation.
In 2022, an artist named Phillip painstakingly redrew the classic scene to provide the internet with a clean, high-definition template for meme makers everywhere. To claim his handiwork, he left a subtle signature in the bottom-left corner of the background wall.
Because that HD template became the gold standard for “Do It For Her” memes online, his signature became permanently etched into meme history.

Paying Homage (With a Twist)
When building our interactive generator, we completely recreated the board in code using HTML5 Canvas. We didn’t use an uploaded background image; we drew the frame, the pins, the tape, and the background color dynamically.
But to pay respects to the template that inspired so many, we decided to add the signature back in as an easter egg.
But we made it better: it’s fully customizable.
If you click the faintly visible signature on your live board, it becomes an editable text box. You can:
- Leave it as a tribute to Phillip
- Change it to your own name or a hidden inside joke
- Delete the text entirely if you prefer a perfectly clean, show-accurate board
There’s no clunky menu option for it. It just sits there quietly on the canvas, waiting for you to discover it. Try clicking the bottom left corner next time you are making a board!
